At Gwyliau Caer Delyn we aim to offer our guests a comfortable and relaxing stay in newly renovated, self catering accommodation.
We have examined the environmental impacts that would arise from a business such as ours and tried to address these early on in the building and renovation process with care and consideration for our immediate environment and wider resource use.
As a user of energy we have included efficient energy features such as a wind turbine and a ground-source heat pump to provide renewable power to the site and high-spec insulation and glazing to improve the energy efficiency of our accommodation. Our light fittings use energy efficient bulbs wherever possible and highly efficient under-floor heating is installed throughout the accommodation.
As an accommodation provider we recognise that water use is important for our guests' comfort and have installed a unique rainwater harvesting system that is used for our toilet cisterns, providing clean freshwater from a natural source. All waste water is treated by a modern and highly efficient treatment installation which ensures that only clean water is released.
Guests are encouraged to contribute suitable materials to our composting facility which helps to maintain our gardens. We also provide recycling bins for paper, glass and cans to reduce our wastes sent to landfill.
As a new business we aim to:-
Gwyliau Caer Delyn is proud to be working with the Green Dragon scheme and will continue to improve its environmental performance and reduce its impacts wherever possible. We will ensure that we remain compliant with all relevant environmental, health and safety legislation and are committed to preventing pollution. We will annually review our performance and policy and make it available to all staff and guests.
